Humantay Lake

Located in the Vilcabamba mountain range, at the foot of the snowy Humantay, is the fascinating lagoon of the same name, at an altitude of 5,473 meters and the second highest in the Cusco region, which in recent years has become the destination of the hikers visiting southern Peru.Peru’s Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca Mountain, has quickly risen to become a major touristic attraction for the country after being discovered for tourism only a few years ago.

Itinerary

We will pick you up at your hotel between 4:50 – 5:00 am and then go on our private bus to the town of Mollepata for a time approx. 2:45 hours, located in the lush valley of the Apurimac River. After our breakfast we will continue with the trip for one more hour until we reach Soraypampa (3,900 meters above sea level) after organizing and a short rest we will start with our walk to the beautiful Laguna Humantay that is located at approximately 4,200 meters above sea level. 1 hour and 30 minutes we will ascend to where we can appreciate the scenic beauty of Salkantay Mountain. Later we will return to our camp to have our lunch with beautiful panoramic views of the snowy peaks and return to Cusco approx. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
